Day 31: Outtakes

Day 31: Outtakes
I didn't prepare for this challenge in advance basically, so I don't have so many outtakes.
But here are some. Thank you very much for accepting me to this challenge! I enjoyed it and learned a lot from other wonderful photographers! Thank you for the comments as well. :)

Day 30: Blackout

Day 30: Blackout
It happened 3 times last winter. Dogs were fine and lights were back in 2 hours each. Hope it won't happen this year. It might be very hard without heating in -25C (-13F) as there is no fireplace in this apartment. But candle lights are nice as I hardly ever light candles in Japan, afraid of earthquakes. It's true!

Day 29: The City

Day 29: The City
If you see this cross shaped building and lights on top of it at night, it might be Montreal!

If you see this dome and an observation tower of Olympic stadium, it's Montreal.

If you see this beautiful church, it is Montreal!

Day 24: M&Ms

Day 24: M&Ms
No! I only bought them for today's theme! Only for today's photo! Not for me to eat!!!!!
By the way, everything is in French (and in English) in Quebec, Canada as you can see.
I know my photo is too straight but I thought nobody goes this easy way. Ha!

Day 23: Underwater

Day 23: Underwater
I used to enjoy scuba diving long ago. I'm still curious what's underwater when I see water. Rivers in Montreal, including this river, freeze in winter time but underwater is warmer than snow world we live in, so their world may be comfortable without enemies, humans. When I did scuba diving under the beginning of coming typhoon in Japan, - it was safe for sure in a small bay - underwater was calm not like on the ground. Underwater is another world which is very close to our world I think.

Day 22: Neutral

Day 22: Neutral
I have my visitor visa until October 31st this year. Yes, I can stay in Canada until next week. And I've applied for my extension for until February 2013 on August 24, 2 months ago . The processing time at the Immigration Office is 64 days and they are working on the documents they received on August 8th. It means I might get the result if I will be able to stay here longer or not, two weeks later from now. I have the right to stay here even if my visa is expired during this processing time so there is no problem. But IF I get the bad result this week, I'll need to go back to Japan by the end of this month. I can't relax in this neutral period.

OK, I can't manage it. Forget about it and plan for Halloween!

Day 21: Broken

Day 21: Broken
When I tried to clean inside of my laptop, I broke the connection of the keyboard. I've been using an additional keyboard since then. I will need to fix my laptop!

Day 19: Steel

Day 19: Steel
It's my steel and I can't cook without it. When I stay in foreign country and there are only small knives, I buy one like this. I don't like to do dishes but like cooking!

Day 18: Qwerty

Day 18: Qwerty
I don't have an iPhone. I don't have an Android cell phone. I'm using a smartphone with a qwerty keyboard which I bought when I came to Montreal. I didn't like it before as it doesn't have a lot of applications. But I prefer physical keyboards at this point, it's enough for me and I like it now. :)

Day 17: Coins

Day 17: Coins
Top: Japanese coins: 1, 5, (10), 50, 100, 500 yen
Middle: American coins:1, 5, 10, 25 cent(s)
Bottom: Canadian coins: 1, 5, 10, 25 cent(s), 1, 2 dollar(s)

After staying for 1 year and 11 months in Canada, I still don't get used to use a quarter and 5 cents combination. But it doesn't take for 45 seconds like when I came here. Today, 0.8 yen almost = 1 cent (US/Canada). I think I should have polished them before taking this photo!

Day 16: Bullshit

Day 16: Bullshit
It was really difficult to find a photo for today's theme "bullshit" for me. I thought of putting my roommate's picture but it was not a great thing to do. I checked my mail box downstairs and found an envelope from one of my music fan friends in the US and it made my day. I felt isolated sometimes these days can't have a job or be a student with my visitor visa in a foreign country after my student visa days. But I've noticed I still have some people thinking of me. So today's bullshit is myself feeling like this like a kid. I will do something before I go back to Japan very soon. :)

Day 15: My Favorite Food

Day 15: My Favorite Food
"Smashed Potato" is not named mashed potato at J Alexander's in Ohio. I have several No. 1s  for me in my life in Ohio I'd stayed and it is one of them. I've never had such yummy mashed potato in my life. I would love to know what is the difference and want to go back there just for this Smashed Potato. Of course this steak was really great as well!

Day 14: Secret

Day 14: Secret
I've been watching a live stream that a man was going up very high in a capsule with the biggest balloon to the sky from Roswell, New Mexico then doing free fall for more than 4 minutes to make a record. In the middle of the contacts between the capsule and the controlling center on the ground, they told us there was a problem on his face cover. Then the live stream just showed just the controlling center for a while. They were secretly talking about the problem if it's how serious and if it affects his free fall from 128,000 feet. At the end and he was back to the earth without any problems. It may have been a created story to make it dramatic more but I was exhausted finishing watching it for 2 hours and a half. It is a good way to spend my Sunday?

Day 13: Calm

Day 13: Calm

Day 12: Five

Day 12: Five
I see beautiful colors of leaves these days. Especially leaves of maple are gorgeous in red. Those are like palms or stars. Having 5 fingers.

Day 11: Heavy

Day 11: Heavy
When I thought about this theme "heavy", one of my favorite music Heavy metal come to my mind. But I have all my CDs etc. in Japan not my current place. Then I decided to put this photo for today. It's my blender/mixer my roommate gave me on Christmas two years ago. He remembered what I said to have this kitchen tool when I have a family in the future is one of my dreams. I was glad to get it and I appreciated it. But this dream meant for my future not now. It's too heavy to bring or send back to Japan. So it's not to insult him but I will leave it in the kitchen when I go back to my country. Thanks a lot. I really like it. But it's really not realistic to bring/send it I'm sorry. It's way too heavy.

Day 10: Stalker

Day 10: Stalker
Thinking about "stalker" I have one who is always stalking/following me. And I know her name! Her name is Shutzy, 16 year old female dog of my roommate. She always stalks me for some reason in the apartment and it is always fun to see her sitting in front of the door when I am out from the bathroom even though my dog doesn't. Most of her nails were gone because of the age so she doesn't make any noise when she stalks me. She is under my desk, like in this picture, when I am doing computer stuff. She gives me smile every day.

Day 9: Rules

Day 9: Rules
There are rules all over the world. When I found it at a cathedral in Montreal. I thought it was a nice sign as you can understand it as "be quiet" without text. I liked this sign and it made me smile.

Day 8: Hair

Day 8: Hair
It was Thanksgiving Day today in Canada. I was invited to a Thanksgiving lunch and met many nice people a family. I liked this hair style of a baby and decided to put this picture for today's theme.

Day 7: Craftsman

Day 7: Craftsman
It is a beaver on a wall of parliament of Canada in Ottawa. You can see a lot of  craftsman's work like this everywhere but I liked it.

I haven't put comments to other challenger's but I will tomorrow. Excuse me.

Day 6: Vibration

Day 6: Vibration
I attended my friend's wedding ceremony today and just got home. It was nice and I felt the vibration of love from them.

Friday, October 5, 2012

Day 5: Lotion

Day 5: Lotion
I don't know if it still describes "lotion" as "gas" but this picture is at a gas station. The price of gas changes 3 times a day sometimes and I was surprised about it because in Japan gas price stays for a week or for two weeks. It's been getting higher compared to when I came to Montreal almost 2 years ago. And I wonder why I feel I never see the dropping prices of the gas.

Day 4: Sour

Day 4: Sour
It think this photo is a fail about today's theme for me as it's hard to find sourness on this picture. I went to a clinic today and felt dull after that but I looked for something sour. I found it and ate it at a new Venezuelan restaurant next to the clinic. This hamburger is chicken and passion fruit one and this passion fruit gave a nice sourness in it. Now I am relieved getting medications for my problems and can have some rest finishing today's task.

Day 3: Above My Head

Day 3: Above My Head
When I walk my dog, sometimes I hear a tolling bell. It's Montreal, Quebec, a city of churches. When you look up at them, the details of the sculptures on the walls are beautiful. I don't go to church but I imagine it's even more beautiful inside.

Day 2: Fast

Day 2: Fast
I do really feel time passes too fast especially these days. When I look at the clock on the wall, it's OK but when I look at a calender in my room, I feel "why is it so fast?" every time. I've been staying in Canada almost for two years and soon I'm leaving to go back to my country, Japan. I wish I could stay here. I'm sure people think about time with "fast" and for me it's about the days I've been spending in a foreign country.
